Dear Prospective Employer,

In response to your job listing that was posted on http://www.craigslist.org, I am submitting my resume to inquire about your Laboratory technician position. I believe that  my education in combination with my work experience make me an ideal candidate for the position.

In December of 2006 I received my bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University, my major was Biology with an emphasis on pre-professional health care. I am looking for a position that will give me the opportunity to gain real world experience within the biotechnology industry and allow me to advance within the university. Beginning in February of 2007 I started volunteering with the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute as a Community Health Worker, to help the residents of East Baltimore receive adequate medical care. I am Adult, Infant, and Child CPR and First Aid Certified by the Red Cross through Morgan State University . I was also a registration aide at The Johns Hopkins University , Mount Washington site. I was a member of the biology club as well as Morgan State University's Chartered Chapter of the American Medical Student Association. I have a great deal of laboratory experience in chemistry, biology, and physics. I have performed chemical reactions and used microscopes to observe many specimens. Throughout the years that I have been at Morgan, I have gained the skills that are necessary to follow when working in a Biological or Science laboratory. I am a detail-oriented individual who completes tasks successfully.

You may contact me for an interview or if you have any questions that may occur regarding my qualifications by contacting me at 410-336-3754. You may also contact me via email at sgilmore@jhsph.edu .  If given the chance, I will prove to be a great asset to your company. I look forward to hearing from you!

Respectably Yours ,
