Sunday, October 12, 2008-The California State University Fullerton Equestrian Team recieved Reserve High Point Team at the horse show hosted by University of San Diego in Bonita, CA. Two riders Katrina Ruzics and Lizz Braley were in a three way tie for High Point Rider of the show.

The California State University Fullerton Equestrian Team is
hosting its first IHSA Horse Show on Sunday
December 3 at Laguna Lake Park. The Fullerton Recreational
Riders are helping the CSUF Equestrian Team to put on this event.
The CSUF Equestrian Team was founded by Laura Piper and Michelle
Young in 2004. In only its third year of existence the CSUF
Equestrian Team will host its first IHSA show.
In the 2005-2006 show season two riders from the team qualified
for the regional and zone competitions. One of
these riders, Michelle Young, advanced to the national competition
where she finished in the top half of her class. The 2006-2007
team is starting the year off strong with its biggest roster
in the team?s history.
The CSUF Equestrian Team is the only IHSA team in Orange County
and has one of the smallest rosters in its region. But, that does
not stop the team from trying to win every show. At their
November 18th competition at UCSD the CSUF Equestrian
Team tied with the USC team for third place.
In the IHSA the best collegiate riders of Southern California compete
as individuals gaining points to qualify them for the regional
competition. The riders also represent their school by earning
points for their team to try to help qualify the team for
the regional competition.
Captain Laura Piper looks forward to being a part of CSUF?s first show,
?I see this show as an opportunity to help bring awareness to the
sport within our community. I have seen the team grow as the
years have passed and it is exciting to watch our dream of
hosting an IHSA show come true.?
?I am very excited about taking this jump forward (by hosting a show)
with our team. Over the past two years we have grown and finally built
a solid foundation for the years to come. I am very happy with our
growth and believe this first IHSA show is just one of many to come,?

To accomplish this great task, the CSUF Equestrian Team needed the
help of a riding facility to put on the show. The Fullerton Recreational Riders
were more than willing to help CSUF with its first IHSA show.
?We are excited to have the CSUF Titan Equestrian Team at the
Fullerton Recreational Riders facility. The FRR have been serving the
recreational needs of the equestrian community throughout Fullerton and
Southern California for over 40 years. The FRR look forward to working
with the CSUF Equestrian Team to make their events a success,?

Come see the Titans compete against USC, UCLA, and seven other
collegiate teams of Southern California this Sunday, December
3rd at 9am at the Laguna Lake Park.
