Notation Names	Meeting Student can name all of the musical notes/chords in their composition.	Progressing Student can name some of the musical notes/chords in their composition.	Not Meeting Student is unable to identify names of musical notes/chords in their composition.
Placement of notes/chords	Meeting Student is able to write all of the notes/chords in their appropriate place on a staff.	Progressing Student is able to write some of the notes/chords in their appropriate place on a staff	Not Meeting Student is unable to write notes/chords in their appropriate place on a staff
Rhythm	Meeting Rhythm is consistently clear with no interruption.	Progressing Rhythm is clear sometimes but with interruption.	Not Meeting Rhythm is unclear.
Level of Difficulty	Meeting Student is able to write a musical composition and meets expectations with few points of clarification needed.	Progressing Student is learning to write a musical composition and needs help in which several points need to be clarified.	Not Meeting Student is unable to write a musical composition and does not show basic understanding of the concepts used thus far.
