Vocabulary Rubric - Frayer Model
When asked to complete a Frayer Model for a target word that was presented in a story or text, and that the students have studied, the students will: write a sentence with good context clues, illustrate the meaning with a picture, provide one synonym, and give at least one definition. (HI.2.R.1.5, LA.2.1.5, CC.2.R.1.4)

There is a picture, but it doesn't provide the clear meaning of the target word.

There is no picture or the picture does not illustrate the meaning of the target word.

Word is used in a grammatically correct sentence which demonstates knowledge of the meaning.
Applying
Demonstrates knowledge of the word in a sentence which is NOT grammatically correct.
Developing
Does not demonstrate knowledge of the meaning of the word.
