Expository/Descriptive Paragraph Expository/Descriptive Paragraph I can write an expository piece of writing that has a clear topic sentence. I can write an expository piece of writing that has clear details that support my topic sentence. I can write an expository(descriptive) piece of writing with sentences that are in a logical order. Supporting details	Keep Working The details do not support the main idea.	Getting There Some of the details support the main idea, but there are some that do not.	Almost There Each detail supports the main idea but there are no follow up sentences.	Wow! Each detail supports, or tells more about the topic. Follow up sentences provide additional support.
Conclusion	Keep Working There is no conclusion. The paragraph just ends without summing up, or restating the topic. It doesn't tie the the details together.	Getting There There is an attempt at a conclusion, but it doesn't restate the topic, or tie the details together.	Almost There The conclusion sums up the topic, by restating it, but it does tie the details together.	Wow! The conclusions does an excellent job of summing up, or restating the topic and tieing the details together.
