Explanation of topic

Your outline should give a clear representation of what concepts the student needs to know about your topic.

Poor

It appears that the writer is not able to identify the important facts for his/her topic.
Fair

The writer shows an incomplete understanding of what facts are important for this topic, and cannot give a lucid explanation of the topic.
Good

Most of the important facts are outlined; however the explanations are somewhat ambiguous, and wouldn't be clear to the uninformed reader.
Excellent

All of the important facts are outlined clearly. There are no superfluous facts listed. Facts are listed only once for each topic. Important information is highlighted.
Examples

Each concept needs to be illustrated with at least one example.

Poor

The examples are not sufficient to illustrate the concepts.
Fair

The examples do not quite illustrate the concept; they are difficult to follow.
Good

Some examples are given, but the reader has not done a thorough review of notes, review sheets, textbook problems, etc. in order to find the best examples. Too many of the same type of problem are given, which is tedious.
Excellent

To support each major idea, an apt example is given. Solutions are given to each example and are done correctly.
Sample Problems

At some point in the review sheet, practice problems are given, along with solutions.

Poor

There are no sample problems given.
Fair

There are a few sample problems, but solutions are not given and/or not correct.
Good

There are some good sample problems given, but some major concepts are not covered. Solutions are given but are somewhat hard to understand and/or are wrong.
Excellent

There is a sample problem illustrating each major concept. Solutions are given and are clear and correct.
Clarity and neatness

It your review sheet user-friendly?

Poor

Review sheet is hand-written and/or not clear. There does not appear to be any organization to the outline.
Fair

Work is hand-written and barely legible; the reader needs to struggle to understand what the writer is trying to convey.
Good

Work is organized fairly well; outline is hand-written but legible. There are some graphs and diagrams shown. It is a little hard to distinguish between the important facts, the examples, and the sample problems.
Excellent

Work is well organized in outline form. Work is typed. Graphs and diagrams, when used, are clear and inserted in an appropriate location. Reader can definitely and clearly delineate between the important facts, the examples, and the sample problems.
