Content & Development 30 pts Does the writer develop the essay in a convincing way? Are there at least 3 strong reasons to support the writer's thesis statement? SCORE:	Poor Very weak argument. Not enough explanations, examples, details, or reasons to support the thesis.	Fair Weak argument. Lacks content. Explanations, examples, details, or reasons are not sufficient to support the thesis.	Good Stronger argument. Gives 2 or more supporting points, but still needs more proof/reasons/details to be totally credible.	Excellent Strong argument. 3 solid supporting points tied directly to the thesis statement. They are credible, clearly explained, and provide strong support for thesis.
Organization 30 pts Are the writer's ideas divided into paragraphs? Is there a clear thesis statement & 3 topic sentences? Is there an introduction, body, and conclusion? SCORE:	Poor Ideas are not divided properly into paragraphs. Thesis statement and topic sentences aren't clear. Ideas are not divided into introduction, body, and conclusion.
