Introduction Speech- Past. Present. Future. Giving a Speech The student will present an effective speech which follows the outline that they have presented to the instructor. Following the Outline	Poor The student did not include an introduction or a conclusion, and left important parts of the outline out of the speech.	Fair The student did not include some areas of the body, but had an introduction and a conclusion	Good The student followed the outline, including the introduction, body, and conclusion
Vocalics/Effect	Poor The student spoke too quietly for the audience to understand, appeared nervous, and did not finish the speech.	Fair The student, for the most part, projected well enough for most of the audience to hear. He/she appeared nervous, but completed the speech.	Good The student projected well so that all members of the class could hear. He/she appeared relaxed, and used humor when appropriate.
Use of visual aids	Poor The student did not use any visual aids.	Fair The student did not appropriately connect the visual aid to the speech, but did attempt to use visual aids.	Good The students used visual aids appropriately and effectively. The visual aids helped the audience understand the speech.
Good attire/Language	Poor The student did not wear clean/appropriate clothing, and used inappropriate language/vocabulary.	Fair The student did not wear clean/appropriate clothing, OR used socially unacceptable vocabulary/language (he/she completed one of the requirements).	Good The student wore clean, appropriate attire, and used socially accepted vocabulary/language.
