Response to Literature 
Scholars will respond to a Principal's Book of the Month read to them aloud. Responses must include: restate and answer questions, support their answers in their own words, support their answer from the text, and extend their responses with text to text, text to world, or text to self connections.

Proficient (15-17)

Scholar's response has all ideas present. Scholar's restate and answer the question. (3pts.)
Advanced (18-20)

Scholar's response demonstrates a deeper thought about the text. Scholar's response has all ideas present. Scholar's restate and answer the question. (4pts.)
