Poetry Project Poetry Project Students will choose a specific topic to write a poem about. The students will go through the writing process (prewriting, drafting, editing, revising and publishing) to create a poem that contains 4 stanzas with 4 lines in each stanza. The poem will have a consistent rhyme scheme throghout the poem. The student will type their poem and paste it onto a piece of construction paper. On the border around the poem, the student will create symbols that represent their poem. Rhyme Scheme	Poor There is no rhyme scheme.	Fair The rhyme scheme is not consistent throughout the poem.	Good There is a consistent rhyme scheme throughout the poem.
Symbols	Poor There are no symbols.	Fair The symbols are not relevant to the poem.	Good The symbols are neat, well-drawn and are relevant to the poem.
Spelling/Grammar	Poor Many words are misspelled. The poem doesn't contain correct punctuation and/or sentence structure.	Fair A few words are misspelled. The poem cotains a few mistakes in punctuation and/or sentence structure.	Good Most words are spelled correctly. The poem contains almost no mistakes in punctuation and/or sentence structure.
