Beginning	Beginning Level The student has difficulty remembering any of the componants of the first portion of the story.	Partically Developed The student states phrases or a few words telling parts of what happened first. There are a few words that indicate some knowledge of the text.	Well Developed Student is clearly able to state what happened first in the story. They tell what happened to whom or what. They begin with At the beginning/The first thing that happened was
Middle	Beginning Level The student has difficulty remembering any componant of the middle portion of the story.	Partically Developed The student uses some words or phrases to tell parts of what happened in the middle of the story. The student has to be proded and reminded 3 or more times.	Well Developed The student can tell what happened at the mid-point of the story-the climax-the exciting part of the story, using complete sentences.
End	Beginning Level The student has difficulty remembering any componant of the end portion of the story.	Partically Developed The student uses some words or phrases to tell parts of what happened at the end of the story. The student has to be proded and reminded 3 or more times.	Well Developed The student can tell what happened at the end of the story using complete sentences.
