Short Story Writing 
Fiction Writing. Students must plan and write a short story based on an illustration. Students must use their proofreading and editing skills, as well as their knowledge of the plot pyramid (beginning, middle, climax, end)

Spelling and punctuation errors are almost non-existent. Paper is clear and easy to read. Penmanship is clear and easy to read. The student took their time and gave their best effort.

Part of a draft or brainstorming are evident.
Good

Complete draft and brainstorming are included. Editing is visible in the rough copy.
Excellent

Complete draft, prewriting and notes are included with story. Editing is visible in the rough draft and improves the final copy of the story.
