Green Squad Class Participation Rubric Class Participation Grade (20 POINTS - 4 points each section) Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be determined. All students are expected to participate in class! I do understand that some students are shy and participate in ways other than class discussion. Forms of participation other than participating in class discussion (although this is a primary form of participation) include coming to me for extra help, giving other students feedback in class, adhering to the no-voice and no-phone rule, consistent attendance, and being able to answer in-class ASL dialogue from both the teacher and other students. NOTE: If you get to the point of having a fair/poor participation grade in one or more areas, it will probably be recommended that you withdraw from the class, as you probably will not be able to keep up with the material. 	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
ATTENDANCE	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is always on time and regularly attends classes.	Good GOOD Student is absent one or two times.	Fair FAIR Student is absent three times with no communication.	Poor POOR Student has four or more absences with no communication.
PUNCTUALITY	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is on time and sitting ready to start journal response.	Good GOOD Student is on time but not ready to start class.	Fair FAIR Student is on time and disruptive to other students ready to start class.	Poor POOR Student is late and disrupts class by entering late.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR	Excellent EXCELLENT Student often asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions.	Good GOOD Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions.	Fair FAIR Student rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions.	Poor POOR Student never participates in class, does not participate in pair/group discussions.
PREPARATION	Excellent EXCELLENT Student is always prepared for class with assignments and required materials punctually.	Good GOOD Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials	Fair FAIR Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials.	Poor POOR Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments.
