Oral Description of a Place I Know After participating in pre-activities pertaining to senses and preposition of location, students will present an oral description of a place that they know of. The description contains some descriptive words regarding sight, smell, sounds, feel or tastes, where the location is, when they have been there, why they have been there, and why the place is important to them. 	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts
Uses complete sentences	Poor Student does not use complete sentences throughout the presentation.	Fair Student uses mostly complete sentences, with some missing words and nonsensical sentences.	Good Students uses complete and descriptive sentences that are comprehensible by the class and teacher.
Includes use of senses	Poor Student does not include any mention of senses such as sight, smell, sounds, touch or tastes in describing the place of interest.	Fair Student mentions only one or two of the five senses in describing the place of interest.	Good Student mentions three or more of the five senses in describing the place of interest.
Use of prepositions	Poor Student does not use any prepositions of location.	Fair Student uses one or two prepositions of location.	Good Student uses three or more prepositions of location.
Describes setting	Poor Student does not use any descriptive language to indicate where the location is.	Fair Student attempts to describe setting in some detial, such as what country it is in.	Good Student describes in detail the location, such as someones house in the country or a specific city.
