Parameters

- Handshapes
- Palm Orientation
- Movement
- Location

Exceptional

Use of all 4 parameters of ASL were clearly defined and well established. Used appropriate form correctly throughout most or the entire presentation.
Meets Expectations

The use of parameters are used accurately 80% of the presentation. The form is somewhat accurate and clear to read, yet produced few errors across parameters.
Developing

Use of inaccurate form of most parameters, or is not produced clearly, but was able to produce some form with 50% accuracy.
Needs Improvement

Student lacks in demonstrating accurate and clear use of parameters during the entire presentation. Produced several errors in form, that makes it hard to recognize.
Comments
Facial Expressions/NMS

- NMS = non-manual signals
- Mouth morphemes
- Eye contact/gaze
- raised/lowered eyebrows
- Body-shifting

Exceptional

Facial expressions/NMS were consistent, accurate, and clearly expressed. Student is able to demonstrate multiple expressions and NMS during most or the entire presentation.
Meets Expectations

Student was able to demonstrate 80% accuracy in facial expressions/NMS, but at times expression was neutral. There were few errors that occurred.
Developing

Facial expressions/NMS were mostly neutral, or was not clearly expressed. Or used facial expression/NMS inaccurately throughout the presentation (i.e. eye contact/gaze was used inappropriately). Was able to express with 50% accuracy.
Needs Improvement

Comments

- Index position (i.e. pointing, shifting, placement)
- Spatial relationship
- Spatial agreement

Exceptional

Use of space is consistent, and demonstrates accuracy through index positioning, and spatial relationship/agreement during most or the entire presentation.
Meets Expectations

Use of space is mostly consistent and produces with 80% accuracy. Student was able to self correct their errors for some indexing, and spatial relationship/agreement when recognized.
Developing

Student demonstrated 50% accuracy with some clarity when structuring space. There were still multiple errors in spatial relationship/agreement.
Needs Improvement

Comments

Needs Improvement

Sign production is difficult to recognize and are inaccurate. Shows several errors, in which signing becomes full of distractions from the message they are trying to present.
Comments
