Design	Excellent All the basics of design were used and used correctly in layout.	Good Most of the design elements were used correctly in layout.	Fair Some of the design elements were used correctly in layout.	Poor Almost none of the design elements were used correctly in layout.
Required Components present	Excellent All necessary components are present. Checklist was signed by me.	Good Most of the assigned components are present	Fair Some of the assigned components are present.	Poor Less than half of components assigned are present
Writing Mechanics	Excellent Writing is descriptive, providing detailed information. An extensive vocabulary is used to keep the reader interested and informed.	Good The writing is clear and concise. Contains 1 or 2 spelling or grammatical errors.	Fair The writing is somewhat clear and concise. Only contains 3 to 5 spelling of grammatical errors.	Poor The writing is vague and unclear. It contains many spelling or grammatical errors.
Creativity	Excellent Imaginitive and original use of layout. Elements are added to create a dynamic layout with little or appropriate white space.	Good Layout is used with additional image boxes and elements added. Shows some creativity in design.	Fair Layout has the basic elements included in the assigned list, but layout is either not creative or visually appealing	Poor Either a premade layout is used or a bland layout is used. Not creative or visually appealing
On Task	Excellent Student spent class time effectively. Also worked outside of class.	Good Student spent most of class time on task.	Fair Student only spent some of class time on task.	Poor Did not spend adequate time working on task.
