Persuasive Advocacy Letter
Students are to choose an issue from their communitiy that they care enough about to take a position. They are to then write an advocacy letter for change, carefully considering their audience and using primary and secondary information as evidence to support their arguments. They must have an appropriate call to action and correct business letter format. This is a processed letter. Social justice is one of the core values on which the social work profession is based. “Social workers promote social justice and social change with and on behalf of clients” (NASW Code of Ethics). www.naswdc.org/advocacy/default.asp *Communicating with Elected Officials https://ssl.capwiz.com/socialworkers/issues/basics/?style=comm
