Novel Choice Board Rubric
	Excellent 5 pts	Satisfactory 3 pts	Poor 1 pts
Comprehension	Excellent Project displays an extensive understanding of the characters, plot, setting, conflict, and/or theme in the novel.	Satisfactory Project displays a sufficient understanding of the characters, plot, setting, conflict, and/or theme in the novel.	Poor Project does not display an understanding of the characters, plot, setting, conflict, and/or theme in the novel.
Creativity	Excellent Project has extremely creative and original ideas. This may take the form of how the work is displayed and presented.	Satisfactory Project has some creative and original ideas. This will take the form of how the work is displayed or presented.	Poor Project has little to no creative and original ideas.
Meets project criteria	Excellent Project meets all requirements of the assignment.	Satisfactory Project meets most requirements of the assignment.	Poor Project meets few or none of the requirements of the assignment.
Learning Tasks	Excellent All learning tasks are 100% complete and accurate. Student clearly read the novel in its entirety.	Satisfactory Some learning tasks are complete and accurate. Student may not have read the entire novel.	Poor Few learning tasks are complete and accurate. Student clearly did not read the book in its entirety.
Presentation (optional)	Excellent Student makes eye contact with audience. Student speaks clearly and is poised.	Satisfactory Student sometimes make eye contact and/or student sometimes speaks too quietly.	Poor Student mumbles and/or refuses to present project. Student has difficulty making eye contact.
