6th and 7th grade PFT Assessment 
This fitness assessment is designed to test different levels and to act as a "benchmark" for present and future fitness assessments. This test has four (4) sections: the step up test, sit-up test, push up test, and the wall squat.

12:00 and over. Must jog or run for 6 laps.
Average

11:30 to 11:59. Must jog or run for 6 laps.
Good

11:29 to 10:00. Must jog or run for 6 laps.
Excellent

9:59 and under. Must jog or run for 6 laps.
Sit-Up (1 minute)

- lie back with knees bent; maintain 90 degree angle or 12 inches from butt to heel
- cross arms over chest and maintain position throughout test
- raise trunk in smooth motion until elbows meet knees
- slowly lower trunk until upper back reaches ground

Poor

0-24 sit ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Sit-Up form throughout test.
Average

25-29 sit ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Sit-Up form throughout test.
Good

30-34 sit ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Sit-Up form throughout test.
Excellent

35 and above sit ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Sit-Up form throughout test.
Push-Up (1 minute)

Proper Form:
- hands are directly below your shoulders, shoulder-width apart
- fingers are facing forward
- make straight line from heels to head
- look forward
- keep butt down
- lower down until elbows are bent 90 degrees and chin touches partner's fist
- Press up and keep back and body straight

Poor

0-4 push ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Push-Up form throughout test.
Average

5-10 push ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Push-Up form throughout test.
Good

11-15 push ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Push-Up form throughout test.
Excellent

16 and above push ups in one minute. Must maintain proper Push-Up form throughout test.
Total Score
- 9 points possible
- counts toward 30% of grade for the grading period
