Book Scene Diorama/Visual Representation Book Scene Diorama/Visual Representation The student will create a diorama or other visual representation which includes a favorite scene from the novel, as well as a written summary describing the scene and why he/she feels the scene is of importance. Details	Excellent Diorama/visual representation is extremely attractive. Many different colors were used. Artistic elements are precise, neat, and show great care in detail.	Good Diorama/visual representation is attractive. Some different colors were used. Artistic elements are present and neat but may lack a bit in detail.	Fair Diorama/visual representation is attractive; however, very few colors were used. Artistic elements are present but there is a lack of neatness and/or attention to detail.	Poor Diorama/visual representation is poorly made. Almost no color is used. Artistic elements are lacking and work does not exhibit efforts to be neat or detail-oriented.
Clarity	Excellent Diorama/visual representation shows a scene from the book clearly. The viewer can easily identify that the characters and setting are from the book.	Good Diorama/visual representation somewhat shows a scene from the book, though some detail may be lacking. The viewer can still tell characters and setting are from the book.	Fair The viewer cannot easily tell that the diorama/visual representation is a scene from the book. Characters and setting are not very recognizable.	Poor Diorama/visual representation does not show a scene from the book.
Written Description	Excellent The summary includes an explanation of the scene depicted. Additionally, the student has clearly explained why the scene is a favorite and why the chosen scene is significant to the overall novel.	Good The summary includes an explanation of the scene depicted, and the student has clearly explained why the scene is a favorite. However, there is no explanation of the significance to the overall novel.	Fair The summary includes an explanation of the scene depicted, but the student does not explain why it is a favorite or why it is significant to the overall novel.	Poor The summary does not explain the scene depicted, nor the reasons why it was chosen. Overall, the summary is poorly written.
Quality and Effort	Excellent Student's work displays high quality and great effort.	Good Student put forth some effort.	Fair Little effort.	Poor No effort put into project; definite lack of quality.
