Content	Excellent Clear topic, organization with effective transitions.	Good Topic, organization, and transitions slightly lacking clarity.	Fair Topic, organization, transitions lacking clarity.	Poor Topic, organization, transitions totally unclear.
Length	Excellent Meets 300-word requirement.	Good 250-299 words	Fair 200-249 words.	Poor less than 200 words.
Grammar	Excellent 0-3 grammar, spelling, and/or usage errors.	Good 4 to 6 errors in grammar, usage, and/or spelling.	Fair 7 to 9 errors in grammar, usage, and/or spelling.	Poor 10 or more errors in grammar, usage, and/or spelling.
Style!!!	Excellent Writer establishes unique, consistent voice and uses a wide variety of sentence structures.	Good Writer's voice shows some creativity and uses some different sentence structures.	Fair Writer's voice is flat. Monotone sentence structure.	Poor Too many errors renders voice indecipherable.
Other Requirements	Excellent Setting, at least two characters, dialogue, and theme.	Good One Other Requirement missing.	Fair Two Other Requirements missing.	Poor Three or more Other Requirements missing.
