Can make several objects in correct proportion to one another but still has some spacial issues.

Excellent use of proportion. Student has mastered the concept of creating things in realistic detail.
VALUE
BEGINNING
Did not create value in drawing. No transitions. Only black and white. No shading techniques used. No highlights, shadows are light source are drawn.
DEVELOPING
Some highlights and shadows are observed, but not very accurately and they do not match the light source.
PROFICIENT
Student observed and shaded highlights and shadows. Viewer can see where the light source comes from.
ACCOMPLISHED
Student accurately observed and shaded highlights and shadows, and the direction of the light source is apparent.
MASTERED
Student can use dark and light values to create volume. There are definite light sources reflected light and cast shadows.

BEGINNING
Student did not use a grid.

Students grid was not correct
PROFICIENT
Student drew a grid but it was dark or they did not erase it in the background and there is much of it left.
ACCOMPLISHED
Grid was draw and erased and there is very little visual remainder.
MASTERED
If I had not seen the student draw a grid I would not be aware that they had used one. There is absolutely no visual reference to it.
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS
BEGINNING
Project does not follow directions.
DEVELOPING
Student turned in an assignment which indicated they did not pay attention to instructions.
PROFICIENT
Project is a hand which is holding an object.
ACCOMPLISHED
Project is a hand holding an object. The hand is 2x as large and they have used most of the shades.
MASTERED
Final project is an enlarged hand which is twice as large. They used the grid method and erased as they went. The student used 5 tones with three types of charcoal.
NEATNESS
BEGINNING
Project and desk are a disaster daily.
DEVELOPING
Project is very messy however they cleaned up the desk.
PROFICIENT
Project is mostly neat with few stray marks. Desk could be cleaner but usually looks good at the end of class.
ACCOMPLISHED
Project is very neat but the student leaves desk messy from time to time.
MASTERED
Student leaves their desk cleaner than it was when they arrived. The finished project was meticulously executed.
