Content Historically Accurate Descriptions of Events.	Level 1 Insufficient and/or incorrect historical facts. Insufficient details about the event.	Level 2 The entry does not provide sufficient details about the historical facts or has some errors about these facts.	Level 3 There are few errors about the historical data and most details about the event(s) are accurate.	Level 4 Dairy entry has very detailed and accurate information about the historical events. Extra information is added that shows an indepth understanding of the event(s). All information is historically correct.
Personal Reflections Student chooses a character.	Level 1 Lack of or insufficient personalization, no information about the character.	Level 2 The entry shows some personal touches, but this is not carried out throughout the whole entry. The writer is not a specific character	Level 3 The entrygives a personal touch, and the writer is a specific character. But the personal reflections are not connected with eachother.	Level 4 Great personal reflections. The entry is connected with the continuation of the "adventures" of the character. Student adds in other facts of this time period.
LANGUAGE/ VOCABULARY Use of words and "tone'" of writing in order to capture interest of the reader.	Level 1 Does not use any word choice or voice in their writing that would create interest and understanding from the audience.	Level 2 Demonstrates some understanding of how to "entertain" an audience by using some form of word choice and/or tone. Not much interest is created, but it is attempted.	Level 3 Demonstrates an understanding of how to "entertain" an audience by using word choice and/or tone. Writing creates some interest.	Level 4 Demonstrates a good understanding of how to "entertain" an audience by using word choice and/or tone. Creates great interest from the audience by providing detailed descriptions of emotions and procedures. Reader becomes involved.
Neatness and Punctuallity -Neatness of entries. -Punctuallity of turning in entries.	Level 1 Entry is turned in late more than one day and work is sloppy.	Level 2 Entry is turned in one day late, and work is sloppy.	Level 3 Entry is turned in on time, but misses neatness.	Level 4 All entries are turned in on time and are always neat.
