Exposition, Federation of Australia 
Students are required to use the knowledge they have gained through a reconstruction of the Constitutional Convention of Australia in 1890, and individual research from 'Federation; Inclusion and Exclusion' to write a persuasive essay convincing the reader of the reasons for or against the federation of Australia. Students are required to follow exposition format of introduction, body and conclusion and use three reasons to support or dissuade the reader to or from federation.

Facts and reasons supporting POV are presented in reasonable order but not all reasons are convincing. Some paragraphs covered too many ideas.
Developing

Facts and reasons are weak and do not show strong support of POV. Paragraphs may be non-identifiable or contain too many different ideas.

The conclusion may be weak and/or missing. It may not summarize the reasons or make a clear closing statement.
Grammar and punctuation

Excellent

The writing is carefully checked and contains easy to read, flowing sentences. There are no spelling or punctuation mistakes.
Good

The writing has correctly formed sentences, however some may be difficult to read. There may be some spelling or punctuation mistakes.
