Ideas Enter description	Poor -Notes, first thoughts. -Reader is left with many questions. -Writer needs help choosing/defining a topic.	Fair -Some underdeveloped text. -Reader must work to get the message -Generalities, broad brush strokes.	Good -Clear, focused, compelling, holds the reader's attention. -Strong main point, idea, story line. -significant intriguing details paint a vivid picture.
Organization Enter description	Poor -No clear sense of direction -No lead or conclusion. -A challenge to follow writer's thinking.	Fair -Organization is loose and formulaic. -Lead or conclusion needs work. -Too much time spent on trivia. -Not always easy to follow without work.	Good -Thoughtful structure. -Provocative opening, satisfying conclusion. -Balanced pacing, and easy to follow.
Voice Enter description	Poor -No sense of person behind words. -Writer's thoughts and feelings do not come through.	Fair -Sporadic, voice comes and goes. -Not quite ready to share, but getting there. -Needs more voice. Restrained, quiet, and cautious.
