Art I Pre Assesment
	BEGINNING 1 pts	DEVELOPING 2 pts	PROFICIENT 3 pts	ACCOMPLISHED 4 pts
PROPORTION	BEGINNING Attempting to look at objects and make them proportioned but not understanding the concept.	DEVELOPING understands the relationship between two objects but does not have them in correct proportion to one another.	PROFICIENT Can make several objects in correct proportion to one another but still has some spacial issues.	ACCOMPLISHED very accurate proportion and realistic detail.
FORM	BEGINNING Draws things in two dimensions still.	DEVELOPING Knows there is 3 dimensions but does not know how to translate that to their paper.	PROFICIENT Has basic knowledge and understands forms have three dimensions. Draws at a basic one point perspective.	ACCOMPLISHED Student accurately drew 3D forms. They used both one and two point perspective methods.
SPACE	BEGINNING No Illusion of space. Flat drawing. No horizon line; subject sits on bottom of paper.	DEVELOPING Attempts to create an illusion of space using two "grounds" but does so ineffectively.	PROFICIENT Creates illusion of physical space using two of the three "grounds."	ACCOMPLISHED Creates an illusion of physical space using three "Grounds"
VALUE	BEGINNING Did not create value in drawing. No transitions. Only black and white. No shading techniques used. No highlights, shadows are light source are drawn.	DEVELOPING Some highlights and shadows are observed, but not very accurately and they do not match the light source.	PROFICIENT Student observed and shaded highlights and shadows. Viewer can see where the light source comes from.	ACCOMPLISHED Student accurately observed and shaded highlights and shadows, and the direction of the light source is apparent.
CRAFTSMANSHIP	BEGINNING Did not utilize time well. Artwork is poorly created and maintained. Artwork is torn, smudged, or has stray marks that distract from the image.	DEVELOPING Could have utilized time better. Artwork is created and maintained with an attempt at neatness. Artwork may be torn, smudged, or have stray marks.	PROFICIENT Utilized time appropriately. Artwork is created and maintained fairly neatly. No tears, minimal smudges, or stray marks.	ACCOMPLISHED Utilized time appropriately. Artwork is created and maintained in a professional manner. No tears, smudges, or stray marks.
