This rubric is designed to help the student to self-evaluate the creation of a powerpoint on an educational text. Make sure to include analysis, evaluation, and application within the presentation, either orally or visually.

Analysis

Exemplary A A-

Thorough analysis of all of the innovations shown and mentioned in the visual and oral presentation. The innovations are related to the home school with professional knowledge of the possible success and failure when implementing in the home school.
Very Good B+ B B-

Some analysis is given on two or three of the innovations. Two or three of the innovations are related to the home school with discussion of either the gains or obstacles to their utilization in the home school.
Basic C+ C

Little analysis is given on one or two of the innovations. One or two of the innovations are related to the home school with some discussion of gains or obstacles to their utilization in the home school.
Unsatisfactory C-

No analysis of the how the innovations can be used at the student's home school is apparent in the visual or oral presentation.
Content

Exemplary A A-

Visual contains relevant compelling information about the book. Content is based on information derived from the entirety of the book. Oral presentation shows understanding of the principles of the successful innovations.
Very Good B+ B B-

Visual presentation contains relevant information from the book. Oral presentation shows understanding of the principles behind the successful innovations.
Basic C+ C

Slides contain minimal content related to the book or coursework for the class. Innovations are listed, but not discussed beyond what is presented on the visual. The oral presentation does not elaborate on the success of the innovations.
Unsatisfactory C-

Neither the visual or oral presentation contain relevant information. The book is addressed but not discussed or elaborated on.
Citations

Exemplary A A-

All successful innovations were supported with citations from the text. The citations were used correctly and with confidence to show evidence of their success. Student also included anecdotes from the text not seen on the visual presentation.
Very Good B+ B B-

Some citations were used from the text in the visual presentation.
Student discussed the citations as well as used other references from the book not shown on the visual.
Basic C+ C

Minimal citations from the text were used in the visual presentation. Student read the citations, but did not relate them to how they proved the evidence.
Unsatisfactory C-

No citations were used to show evidence of successful innovations.
Presentation/Organization

Exemplary A A-

The presentation is well coordinated. All material is presented using language that is original. Speaker is well informed and elaborates beyond the displayed material.
Very Good B+ B B-

The presenter makes consistent eye contact with the audience. Speaker is clear, and presents information beyond the displayed material.
Basic C+ C

The presenter makes minimal eye contact with the audience. Most information is read directly from the screen or page.
Unsatisfactory C-

The presenter makes no contact with the audience. Everything is read directly from the screen of page.
