Level 6 Sight Singing Assessment Key of C only Level 5 Sight-reading Assessment FFMHS 4th-12th graders will sing and record a sight singing exercise during class. In order to advance to the next level, the student must earn a minimum score of 3.0. This will be counted as a performance-based summative assessment. Steady Beat	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing with a steady beat at this time. There are 7 or more steady beat mistakes.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings with a steady beat. There are 4-6 steady beat mistakes.	3 Student MOSTLY sings with a steady beat.There are no more than 1-3 steady beat mistakes.	4 Student ALWAYS sings with a steady beat. There are no steady beat mistakes.
Rhythm	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing rhythms accurately at this time. There are 7 or more rhythmic mistakes.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings the rhythms accurately. There are 4-6 rhythmic mistakes.	3 Student MOSTLY sings the rhythms accurately. There are no more than 1-3 rhythmic mistakes.	4 Student ALWAYS sings the rhythms accurately. There are no rhythmic mistakes.
Syllable recognition	1 Student is NOT ABLE to sing the correct syllables at this time. There are 7 or more syllable mistakes.	2 Student SOMETIMES sings the correct syllables. There are 4-6 syllable mistakes.	3 Students MOSTLY sings the correct syllables. There are no more than 1-3 syllable mistakes.	4 Student ALWAYS sings the correct syllables.
