Group Debate Project
	Poor 10 pts	Fair 15 pts	Good 20 pts	Excellent 25 pts
Individual's Responsibility	Poor The student has a hard time accepting their responsibility and had to be asked repeatedly to complete their portion of the assignment.	Fair The student is working towards accepting responsibility for their assigned role(s); however, they have not fully mastered this yet.	Good The student performs all tasks without hesitation or being asked.	Excellent The student not only takes on the role they were assigned, but that of another student. The student may also have assumed the role of the leader of the group and helps guide the learning community in the corrrect direction.
Teamwork	Poor Team members didn't work together or use class worktime effectively.	Fair Team members struggled working together or did not effectively use worktime in class most of time. There was an obvious divide between those who did and did not contribute.	Good Team members worked well together and effectively used worktime in class most of the time. All members contributed to debate, but a few carried more of the work.	Excellent Team members worked well together and effectively used worktime in class. All members equally contributed to debate.
Research and Topic Understanding	Poor The team did not do the research or show an adequate understanding of the topic.	Fair The team seemed to have some research and understanding the main points of the topic. No persuasion.	Good The team researched and mostly understood the topic. Information presented but lacks some persuasion.	Excellent The team clearly researched and understood the topic in-depth. Presented information convincingly.
