I demonstrate some knowledge of the steps and formations - following the group's lead. I can keep up with group with some errors.
Beginning

I demonstrate little knowledge of the steps and formations. I am unsure, so I hesitate, watch others and make several errors. I try to follow the group.
Technical skills

Exceeds

I perform the dance(s) with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement in relation to the group and other details of the dance.
Secure

I perform the dance(s) with attention to details of technique. I have a a good sense of the correct dance style.
Developing

I perform the dance(s) with attention to most details of technique, but I haven't quite attained proficiency in the dance style yet.
Beginning

I lack an understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions). I'm just trying to keep up with the moves.
Rhythm/Tempo

I show a complete understanding of tempo and beat and stay on rhythm throughout the dance. My movements are aligned with the musical phrase and beat.

Beginning

I am generally focused, but only attempt a little to communicate with others on stage and/or in the audience.

I show and communicate with the other group members a positive and encouraging attitude that supports my group.
