A student will write on their who they believe is the mother of the monster and also relate this to textual evidence. They may acknowledge other answers but state why they are not as strong of a choice. The student may also relate the question to the author.

Students do all of the steps for a "good grade" but show the command of the vocab by implementing it into their argument. This means they identify the definition, according to the instructional YouTube video, and then relate the vocabulary to their answer.

Here, the student shows their learning and application by having few to none mistakes.

Student utilizes grammar taught that week in class, and has few to no mistakes. Within this, they are able to point out the grammar skills used by Shelley to add depth to certain points. Not only do they apply their grammar skills but they also use them to analyze.
