Observed Effort	Outstanding Effort I observed the student working on the project unabated until the project was done. When difficulties presented themselves the student did not lose focus on the assignment. The assignment was completed.	Moderate Effort I observed the student working on the project most of the time. When difficulties presented themselves the student would lose focus and need to be redirected. The assignment was not completed (parts were not completed).	Effort Needs Improvement I observed very little effort being put into the assignment. When difficulties presented themselves the student lost focus and did not regain it. The assignment was not completed.
Self-Evaluation of Effort	Outstanding Effort I worked on the task until it was completed. I pushed myself to continue working on the assignment even when difficulties arose or a solution was not immediately evident. I viewed difficulties that arose as opportunities to strengthen understanding.	Moderate Effort I worked on the task but didn't complete it to the best of my ability. When difficulties presented themselves I stopped trying as hard as I could.	Effort Needs Improvement I put very little effort in the assignment. I did not complete it.
