Competent Shows strong understanding of division. Uses mathematical terminology, but is unable to fully explain the concept.	Developing Shows little understanding of the concept of division. Uses limited mathematic terminology.	Emerging Shows no understanding of how to divide. Does not know terminolgy (example: quotient, dividend, divisor)
Use of Manipulatives	Exemplary Student always listens and follows directions and only uses manipulatives as instructed.	Competent Student typically listens and follows directions and uses manipulatives as instructed most of the time.	Developing Student sometimes listens and follows directions and uses manipulatives appropriately when reminded.	Emerging Student rarely listens and often "plays" with the manipulatives instead of using them as instructed.
