Weaving on Loom CD Weaving Students create a weaving on a cardboard loom. Rubric Code: PX2XB32 By mnicoulin Draft Public Rubric Subject: Arts and Design Type: Project Grade Levels: 6-8

Loom Weaving
	3 20 pts	2 10 pts	1 5 pts
Warp pts	3 Student wrapped the yarn an odd number of times. Warp is wrapped tightly on the loom.	2 Student did not wrap the warp tightly on the loom.	1 Student incorrectly wrapped the warp yarns.
Weft pts	3 Student correctly wove the weft yarns without errors. (over/under)	2 Weft yarns are mostly woven correctly with a few errors.	1 Weft yarn has many errors. Student did not understand the weaving technique.
Colors pts	3 Student changed colors 4 or more times. Weaving has at least 5 colors. (Colors can repeat but there should be at least 5 sections.)	2 Student changed colors only 3 times. CD weaving has only 4 colors.	1 Student changed colors once or twice. Weaving has only 2 or 3 colors.
Craftsmanship pts	3 Student carefully completed the weaving with no errors. Knots were tied tightly and tucked into the weaving.	2 Weaving is mostly neat with a few areas that could be improved upon.	1 Weaving appears messy. Student needs to work on craftsmanship when completing assignments.
Time and Effort pts	3 Class time was used wisely. Much time and effort went into the planning and creation of the weaving.	2 Most of the class time was used wisely, but the student could have been more focused during the creation of the weaving. (Student needed some reminders to stay on task.)	1 Class time was not used wisely and student put little effort into the assignment.
