10 Rights	Excellent Learner able to apply all ten rights to each medication he/she prepares, including having a strong understanding the reason that the patient is on this particular medication	Good Learner able to apply 8-9 of the ten rights to each medication he/she prepares, including having a basic understanding of the reason that the patient is on this particular medication	Fair Learner able to apply 6-7 of the ten rights to each medication he/she prepares, and has a basic understanding of the drug	Poor Learner able to apply less than 6 of the ten rights to each medication he/she prepares, and has little or no understanding of the drug
Safety	Excellent Learner safely and systematically prepares each medication using the 3 checks, without prompting	Good Learner safely and systematically prepares each medication using the 3 checks, with occasional prompting	Fair Learner prepares each medication using the 3 checks, but requires much prompting to do so	Poor Learner unable to safely prepare medication using the 3 checks without continual prompting

Time Management	Excellent Learner is able to safely administer all medications within allotted time	Good Learner is able to safely administer all priority medications within allotted time, and remainder of medications within 1/2 hour	Fair Learner is able to safely administer most medications within 1/2 hour of allotted time	Poor Learner is unable to administer medications within 1/2 hour of allotted time
Critical Thinking	Excellent Learner is able to independently critically think through situations and apply judgement and rationale for choosing medication administration times, prioritizing medications, when to hold medications or when to administer PRN meds	Good With prompting, learner is able to apply judgement and rationale for choosing medication administration times, prioritizing medications, when to hold medications or when to administer PRN meds	Fair With much direction, learner is able to apply rationale for choosing medication administration times, prioritizing medications, when to hold medications or when to administer PRN meds	Poor Learner is unable to apply rationale for medication times, and is unsure of priorities. Is unsure of when medications should be held, or when PRNs should be given
