Conic Section Project (Extra Credit) 
Conic sections can be found represented in many ways in the real world outside the classroom. The purpose of this assignment is to help students realize that the mathematical properties they are learning in the classroom have real applications in a variety of professional fields and sciences. The student will select a real world example of a conic section and analyze its characteristics and useful applications though writing its equation and a descriptive essay.
