Proficient
Student is in the ready position with fingers touching top of black line, knees bent and feet on the floor. Students slide hands forward to second black line on the word up. Students slide hands to starting black line on the word down.
Near Proficient
Students start in the proper ready position, but do not maintain contact with the black lines during the test.
Progressing
Students need peer or teacher's assistance to get into the ready position and need peer assistance (holding feet) to curl-up.
Developing
Student needs total assistance to get into the ready position for a curl-up. Fails to slide hands forward and needs peer assistance to curl-up.
Sit and Reach
Proficient
Student is seated at the sit and reach box with one leg bent and one leg in hook position, foot flat on floor, right next to straight leg knee. Fingers are interlocked. Students maintain straight leg when perfroming the sit and reach test and holds for 3 seconds.
Near Proficient
Students needs assistance from teacher with one of the critical elements of the sit and reach test.
Progressing
Student needs assistance with two critical elements of the sit and reach test.
Developing
Student does not know how to set up for the sit and reach and needs complete assistance from the teacher.
Push-Up
Proficient
Students start in the ready position with hands under shoulders and weight on knees and hands shoulder with apart. Students move to the straight leg position when the test begins. Student is able to do at least one straight leg push-up with arms at 90 degree angle.
Near Proficient
Student is able to perform a bent knee push-up. Student maintains a strong core with a flat back. The only body part that touches the floor are knees and hands.
Progressing
Student has glutes in the air when performing a bent knee push-up and is unable to bend arms to a 90 degree angle.
Developing
Student does not know ready position for bent knee or straight leg push up. Hand positiioning is incorrect and their form lacks and critical elements of a push-up.
