All 10 thumbnail sketches were completed to a high standard. These were annotated and included images and material samples collected through research.

This artist book is well constructed. Pages, images and materials are all securely attached and the structure is sturdy.
IDEA/THEME
POOR
Little thought was put into the theme of this artist book and it was not developed thought the book

Some thought was put into the theme of this book. However, the theme didn't develop in a logical order throughout the artist book and the theme was not always made evident through words or images.
GOOD
The student has put a fair amount of effort into developing the theme and idea of this artist book. The theme unfolds in a logical order and is consistently carried throughout the artist book,

This artist book has a highly creative theme which is well developed in a logical and concise manner. The student has used creative concepts to illustrate the theme.
FONTS/TEXT

Little or no text has been used to compliment images and develop a theme

Limited words have been used, however these do not relate to images or concepts and the font selection did not complement the design or the book.
GOOD
This artist book uses text in an effective manner. Although word selection is not always appropriate, it generally complements the images and assists in the theme development. The font selected works well with the design of the book,

This artist book incorporates cleverly selected text components. Words and sentences come from diverse sources and relate to the theme in both blatant and abstract ways. The font selected also complements other design choices made throughout the book.
EVALUATION

An evaluation is provided, however it is too brief and it does nothonestly discuss areas of strengths and weakness.
GOOD
The evaluation provided is well written and honest, hoeverever it is somewhat brief.
EXCELLENT
The evaluatin written is honest, well written and thoroughly explains the projects strengths and weaknesses.
EFFORT
POOR
Little effort was made to complete the artist book project,

Some effort was made to complete the task, although a lack of motivation was evident.
GOOD
The student was motivated and worked well.
EXCELLENT
The student was highly motivated to produce high quality work. Extra time was spent working on this project out of school hours. The energy of this student was a motivation to fellow classmates.
