Identifying Beginning Sounds

Students will be given a set of four picture cards. They will then be asked to state the beginning sound with each picture card.

Beginning

When given a set of four pictures, the student is not able to correctly state the beginning sound of any pictures.
Emerging

When given a set of four pictures, the student is able to correctly state the beginning sound of 1 or 2 pictures.
Developing

When given a set of four pictures, the student is able to correctly state the beginning sound of 3 pictures.
Mastery

When given a set of four pictures, the student is able to correctly state the beginning sound of all 4 pictures.
Rhyming Words Receptive

Students are asked to look at a set of 8 word cards (contains the word and a picture) and find the sets of rhyming words.

Student is not able to match any rhyming pairs.

Student is able to match 1 or 2 sets of rhyming pairs.

Student is able to match 3 sets of rhyming pairs.
