Model Building - cabin Model Building - cabin Students must use class time and the materials provided, to build a log cabin resembling those from pioneer times. They have previously completed a worksheet based on the pioneer home and cabin building. Materials & Size 4 pts Using the materials provided, build a cabin.	Level 1 The building is made of one material, with no details to resemble a log cabin.	Level 2 The building is made of a number of materials to resemble a log cabin such as: craft/popsicle sticks, plasticine, cardboard, toothpicks and glue.	Level 3 The building meets all previous criteria and it has a roof and floor.	Level 4 The building has a roof, a floor, windows and a door, is made of a number of the previously listed materials, and has excellent proportion.
Construction 4 pts Students gain points for completion, and by adding details.	Level 1 The building does not appear sturdy. It is incomplete.	Level 2 The building is: somewhat sturdy, and has details drawn on.	Level 3 The building is: sturdy, and uses a number of different materials to add detail. It somewhat resembles a log cabin. Building includes some aspects of the home - i.e. at least 1 room	Level 4 The building is: sturdy, has cut out windows, one interior wall, and a cut out door/a door made of unique materials. The building clearly resembles a log cabin. Building includes many detailed aspects of the home - ie. bedroom, kitchen, fireplace, outdoor crops
