Performance is generally inadequate, mediocre and may even pose a hazard to the student and/or others as well as significant danger/damage to equipment.

Performance is generally satisfactory with minimal risk to equipment.; however, student is not yet at the level qualified to be practicing in the field and effectively representing the profession and the certifying institution.

Fails to identify appropriate repair parts needed, their suppliers, or to check for availability and prices using electronic & manual sources.

Researches equipment/products or uses troubleshooting aids/equipment manuals at least 70% of time. Does adequate inspection (may miss 1 or 2 circuits, etc.).
