Discussing songs	Poor Student struggled to what the gist of the song is. Had trouble identifying expressions from the lyrics and giving his/her opinion about the song.	Fair Student can identify and present the basics of the gist of the song. He/she could find some interesting expressions in the song. Also, gave his/her opinion about the gist, but made frequent pauses to collect his/her thoughts.	Excellent Student can talk about the gist of a song in detail. She/he can easily identify most interesting expressions in the song and comfortably give his/her opinion about the gist/meaning of the song.
Preferences	Poor Student could barely express his/her preferences regarding songs with a yes/no and showed herself/himself confused or insecure about the statement.	Fair Student can express clearly how they feel about the songs in brief answers.	Excellent Student is able to express her/his preferences regarding songs fluently and spontaneously. He/she uses diverse expressions and vocabulary words.
Rewriting (playing w/ grammar)	Poor Student's rewriting of a stanza showed she/he didn't get the gist of the verse. There were many grammar mistakes.	Fair Student's rewriting of a stanza shows she/he got the gist of the verse. There are a few grammar mistakes but meaning is overall clear.	Excellent Student's rewriting of a stanza shows clear understanding of the meaning of the verse. Use of grammar was excellent with practically no mistakes.
