Stop Motion Animation Stop Motion Animation The student will create a short clip using Stop Motion techniques. Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Sets/Characters/Props	Excellent Sets/characters/props are very well used and visually interesting. A lot of time was put into their construction.	Good Sets/characters/props are well used and visually interesting.	Fair Sets/characters/props are well used and somewhat visually interesting.	Poor Sets/characters/ props are not well used or visually interesting.	Missing/Incomplete Sets/characters /props are not used and not interesting at all.
Animation	Excellent Animation is very smooth and the characters/objects have fairly natural movements. All frames are in focus.	Good Animation is smooth and there is very little distracting camera movement. Most frames are in focus.	Fair Animation is choppy. Camera movement is a little distracting.	Poor Animation is very choppy. Camera is unsteady and distracting.	Missing/Incomplete Sets, characters, and props were created but not animated.
Sound	Excellent Sound effects and music make the animation more interesting. Music and sound effects "fit"perfectly with the animation.	Good Sound effects and music add to the movie experience.	Fair There was probably a better choice for sound effects and music.	Poor Music and sound effects were distracting.	Missing/Incomplete Music and sound effects were not appropriate, were incomplete or missing.
Titles/Credits	Excellent Titles/credits are creative and make the animation more interesting. The name for the animation is creative and "fits" perfectly with the animation. The credits completely inform about the creators of this animation.	Good Titles/credits completely inform about the creators of this animation.	Fair Titles/credits are not creative but still inform about the creators of this animation.	Poor Titles/credits were too long and distracting, and don't inform about the creators of this animation	Missing/Incomplete Titles and credits were not appropriate, were incomplete or missing.
