SPEECH PRESENTATION
Speech Presentation
Students will read a speech given by a famous American. Students will cut the speech to three minutes without losing the gist of the speech.The presentation will begin with background information and timing will commence when the actual speech begins. The time limit is three (3) minutes with +/- 5 seconds on either side.

Occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of the speech.

Some eye contact most of the time, but frequently returns to notes, but well rehearsed.

Maintains good eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes. Obviously well rehearsed.
Elocution
Below Expectations
Mumbles, incorrectly pronounces words and names, and speaks too quietly for the audience in back to hear.
Approaching expectations
Voice is soft and quiet. Student incorrectly pronounces words and names. Audience has difficulty hearing.
Meets expectations
Voice is clear. Student pronounces most words and names correctly. Most of the audience can hear.
Exceeds Expectations
Uses a clear voice and correct, precise diction and pronunciation. The audience members can hear everything.
