Earthquakes/Volcanoes Poster Presentation 
The students will put together a poster to show during their oral presentation. The poster will contain information that the students collected regarding earthquakes or volcanoes based on library/internet research. The group presentation must be aligned with the poster.

Exceeds

The poster includes all required elements of the project and includes effective use of sources. More than 6 facts about the chosen subject are included
Good

Poster meets all required elements; however, it does not utilize the resources in the most effective manner. Includes the minimum amount (6 facts)
Fair

Does not have all of the required elements of the poster. Also, sources are not used in an effective manner, or there is not enough information presented. (4-5 facts)
Poor

The poster is lacking in elements required and in resources used. There are many gaps in information presented.
Work quality/effort

Exceeds

The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.
Good

The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into this poster and presentation.
Fair

Work is done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed.
Poor

Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is incomplete.
Style/Mechanics

Exceeds

The poster has an element of creativity and style,, and is not just a list of facts. The poster is presented in a clear and concise manner with full understanding of the subject.
Good

The poster is clear and logical and contains facts as well as very few mistakes. Good clear presentation.
Fair

The poster lacks style and reads more like a list of facts than an oral group presentation. The poster lacks neatness and clarity
Poor

The poster lacks a clear understanding of the subject matter and their are many errors. Poster is not creative.
Presentation

Exceeds

The team works together with fluency, fairness and unity. Each member speaks clearly and puts their information with complete understanding of their information.It is evident that the team has prepared what they will say.
Good

The team works together. The group members speak clearly and each member presents good amount of the information expected.
Fair

There are several confusing moments among the group and the information presented is not completed relayed during the presentation. The group has not practiced together to prepare.
Poor

The group is unprepared to work as a team. No preparation was done for the presentation and the information that is presented lacks many elements of what is expected.
