Students have an understanding of general hockey skills such as passing and trapping and can demonstrate these skills on a basic level. Also show interest in game-like scenarios/activities.
Good

Students have a good understanding of general hockey skills such as the three different types of passes and trapping. They are able implement these skills into games and show active participation constantly.
Excellent

Students have an expert understanding of general hockey skills such as all types of passes, trapping and body positioning in the field. They can fully implement these skills into the games and consistently demonstrate a strong presence within the class
Attacking

Poor

Students show minimal understanding and demonstration of attacking hockey skills.
Fair

Students understand the different types of hockey shots and can demonstrate these skills on a basic level.
Good

Students can demonstrate multiple attacking skills of hockey including types of shooting, dribbling and stick drags.
Excellent

Students are able to implement multiple attacking hockey skills into the games. They understand when the skills are best used in the context of the game and why they are used.
Defending

Poor

Students lack the knowledge and are unable to demonstrate the key defending skills in hockey.
Fair

Students can demonstrate basic levels of tackling and have the ability to control the ball with their stick.
Good

Students have a good understanding of tackling, positioning and channelling and can demonstrate them well.
Excellent

Students can implement the three types of tackling and channelling into game-like scenarios. They understand the roles of a defender of the field and how to position themselves properly.
Specialised Skills

Students are unable to demonstrate any of the specialised skills used in the game of hockey.

Students are able to demonstrate one of the specialised skills that can be used in a hockey game.
Good

Students are able to demonstrate 2-3 specialised skills used in the game of hockey.

Students can consistently demonstrate multiple specialised skills in a hockey game and implement these skills into game-like scenarios.
