Science Fiction Special Project Evaluation
The students will be evaluated on their 3-D model and the explanation of their story. They will need to discuss the 5 literary elements that we use as a book report format.

Student is able to present some information about their book, showing some understanding of their book's content. Student is also able to answer some questions from the audience.

Student is unable to present information about their book, showing little or no understanding of their book's content. Student is also unable to answer questions from the audience.

Pro Presenter
Student has a visual prop that appropriately fit's their book's topic. The prop is well thought out, shows cinsiderable work was put into it, shows creativity was used, and adds to their presentation.
Amateur Presenter
Student has a visual prop that sort of fits their book's topic. The prop looks like some thought was put into it, shows some work was put into it, shows some creativity was used, and adds a little to their presentation.
Find another profession
Student has a visual prop that really doesn't fit their book's topic. The prop looks like no thought was put into it, sloppy and rushed, shows no creativity was used, and does not add to their presentation (may distract). OR there is no visual prop.
Loud and Clear
Pro Presenter
The presenter can be heard in the back of the room, throughout the entire presentation. The student also speaks clearly and distinctly, mispronouncing no words.
Amateur Presenter
The student can be heard in the back of the room throughout most of the presentation, or the student often speaks softly throughout the presentation. The student speaks clearly and distinctly some of the time, mispronouncing a few words.
Find another profession
The student cannnot be heard in the back of the room during the presentation. The student also muffles their speaking or mumbles, and mispronounces several words.
Prepared/ability to interest others
Pro Presenter
The student is prepared to give their presentation, and it is obvious the the student rehearsed. Also, the student grabs the audience with their information that is presented, which is obvious in the attention and participation of the class.
Amateur Presenter
The student is somewhat prepared to give their presentation, and it appears the student could have used more time to rehearse. The presented gets the attention of the audience, but as the presentation goes on he/she loses their attention, and they are not as engaged in discussion afterward.
Find another profession
The student is not prepared to give their presentation, and it is obvious that the student did not rehearse. The presenter's information does not keep the audience's attention or engage the audience in discussion at the end.
