Preparation	Excelente Student is always prepared for class with required materials. (Flashcards and/or project materials when required, etc).	Bueno Student is usually prepared for class with required materials, may not have all materials.	Asi-asi Student is frequently unprepared for class with materials, asking from colleagues from time to time.	¿Qué paso? Student is always unprepared for class with required materials, always asking or does not have materials.
Organization/Following Directions	Excelente Student is always organized and follows directions as per classroom rules and procedures. (Note: Talking during a quiz/test results to a grade of zero).	Bueno Student is almost always organized (1-2 errors) and in following directions as per CM rules and procedures.	Asi-asi Student is sometimes organized (3-4 errors) and in following directions as per CM rules and procedures.	¿Qué paso? Student is hardly organized and in following directions as per CM rules and procedures.
Participation	Excelente Student often asks good questions, Participates in songs when required and recites in whole class discussion. Speaks all Spanish in class.	Bueno Student sometimes asks good questions, and may not always participate in whole class discussion. Speaks mostly Spanish in class.	Asi-asi Student rarely participates in class, may ask irrelevant questions, rarely participates in whole group discussion. Sometimes speaks Spanish in class.	¿Qué paso? Student never participates in class, rarely participates in whole class discussion. Hardly speaks Spanish in class.
Group Work	Excelente Student participates and works well with pair/ group.	Bueno Student almost always works well with pair/group.	Asi-asi Student struggles with pair/group work.	¿Qué paso? Student fails to work well with pair/group.
Use of Class Time	Excelente Student uses class time wisely, completes bell ringer and/or worksheet in class. Keeps area clean, free from trash.	Bueno Student has to be reminded a few times (1-2) to use class time wisely. May keep area clean, free from trash.	Asi-asi Student has to be be reminded majority of the time (3-4) to use class time wisely. Fails to keep area clean.	¿Qué paso? Student has to constantly be reminded to use class time wisely. Student is either goofing off and/or not focused, not paying attention, causing distraction (5 or more). Leaves area dirty.
