Below is a chart that shows you exactly how your class participation grade will be evaluated. All students are expected to participate in class!

PUNCTUALITY
Excellent
Student is on time regularly or early for class.
Good
Student is usually on time or early (one or two tardies).

Student is sometimes on time (three or four tardies).

Student is often late, four or more times.
PREPARATION
Excellent
Student is always prepared for class with assignments and required materials punctually.
Good
Student is usually prepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.
Fair
Student is frequently unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.
Poor
Student is almost always unprepared for class with assignments and required materials, possibly attempting to submit some materials late.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Excellent
Student is on task and asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions and only uses technology for educational purposes.
Good
Student is mostly on task, asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions. May have used technology for other than education.
Fair
Student is often off task, rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions. May have blatantly used technology for other than education two or three times.
Poor
Student needs constant reminders to stay on task, never participates in class, does not participate in pair/group discussions. Often used technology for other than educational purposes.
ATTITUDE
Excellent
Student always presents a positive attitude towards the course, their fellow students, and their teacher.
Good
Student usually presents a positive attitude towards the course, their fellow students, and their teacher.
Fair
Student sometimes presents a positive attitude towards the course, their fellow students, and their teacher.
Poor
Student never presents a positive attitude towards the course, their fellow students, and their teacher.
BEHAVIOR
Excellent
Student always behaves appropriately with other students and teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.
Good
Student usually behaves appropriately with other students and teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.
Fair
Student sometimes behaves appropriately with other students and teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.
Poor
Student never behaves appropriately with other students and teacher, both inside and outside the classroom.
