This rubric will be used with your lesson plans. You must include at least a concept attainment lesson, a direct instruction lesson teaching a learning strategy, and a lecture-discussion lesson.

Language objectives are stated but not fully addressed by all activities in the plan. Most objectives are measurable and/or some may be confusing. Most match content standards.
Unsatisfactory
Language objectives are stated but not addressed by assessment or activities in the plan. Objectives are confusing. Objectives do not match content standards.
Instructional strategies
Proficient
At least 3 best-practice strategies are explicit in the lesson.
Basic
At least 2 best-practice strategies are explicit in the lesson.
Unsatisfactory
At least 1 best-practice strategy is explicit in the lesson.
Student engagement
Proficient
Lesson contains 3 strategies for active student engagement (during group work or instruction).
Basic
Lesson contains 2 strategies for active student engagement (during group work or instruction).
Unsatisfactory
Lesson contains 1 strategy for active student engagement (during group work or instruction).
Balanced lesson
Proficient
The lesson demonstrates a clear understanding of the model used.
Basic
The lesson is missing one component of the lesson model.
Unsatisfactory
More than one component of the model is missing.
Assessment
Proficient
Formative and/or Summative Assessment is aligned with the objectives and activities. It is appropriate for the lesson.
